When a person is arrested the court will set a court date for their initial hearing and a bail amount based on the charges they were arrested on. The bond agency will charge a percentage of the bail amount as a fee and then completes all the necessary paperwork in order to have the accused released.

If the defendant fails to show up for court the person who posted bail for them (Indemnitor) will be liable for pay the full face value of the bond as well as any fees that are accrued while trying to locate the runaway defendant.
